What is ECP?

The US-ECP device

External Counterpulsation (ECP) is a simple, non-invasive, non-pharmacological, low risk, painless therapy to treat coronary artery disease. ECP has been used to treat patients suffering with transient ischemic attack (“TIA”), stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease and other non-cardiac ischemic degenerative disorders.

ECP was originally pioneered in the U.S. in late 1960s, then developed, refined, and widely used in Asia and Europe while U.S. physicians turned to a variety of surgical procedures. ECP was reintroducted in the US in the 1990s, providing doctors and patients a low cost, low risk therapeutic alternative to surgical or chemical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration approved Model US-ECP to provide non-surgical treatment for patients suffering from stable and unstable angina, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and acute myocardial infarction. Model US-ECP is a sixth generation device, whose technologically advanced imbedded software and digital hardware make it extremely reliable and effective.

US-ECP Inc.'s mission is to work with physicians and hospitals in the management of their patient’s cardio-cerebro artery diseases by offering an optional, non-invasive treatment modality that makes improved clinical and economic outcomes possible. This mission is supported by US-ECP Inc.’s dedication and commitment to delivering the highest quality products and services.
